Tanguiéta, located in the Atakora Department of northern Benin, serves as a key town and regional hub. Covering 5,465 square kilometers with a population of around 74,675, Tanguiéta is strategically positioned along the RNIE 3 highway, connecting it to the town of Natitingou. Once the administrative center during French colonial rule, it is now known as the gateway to Pendjari National Park, where the park's headquarters are based. The town is also home to the Hôpital Saint Jean de Dieu, a prominent regional medical facility.
