Tachila Nature Reserve, located about 5 km from Francistown, spans 8,000 hectares and serves as a conservation and community project showcasing the natural and cultural heritage of the North East District. The reserve is home to wildlife such as leopards, hyenas, kudu, impalas, and warthogs. Currently open for pre-arranged self-drive game viewing, it is in the early stages of development, with plans for a luxury lodge, conference facilities, and sustainable infrastructure. Future conservation efforts aim to introduce species like rhinos, cheetahs, giraffes, and sable antelopes while promoting eco-friendly practices.
