Port Harcourt Pleasure Park adult entry costs ₦1,500 as of early 2026, while children under twelve pay ₦1,000. Located strategically on the busy Aba Road between the Bori Camp army barracks and the Air Force base junction, the park serves as the primary recreational hub for Rivers State. This 2017 urban development project transformed a formerly swampy stretch of land into a manicured leisure center managed by the construction giant Julius Berger. While the gate fee grants access to the grounds and the jogging tracks, individual activities like the climbing tower or boat rides require separate tickets purchased at the internal kiosks.
The facility operates from 6:00 AM until 11:00 PM daily, though most mechanical rides and the ticket booths for specific games do not open until 9:00 AM. Arriving before 10:00 AM is a smart move if you want to secure a spot on the pedal boats without a long wait under the Niger Delta sun. Weekend crowds—especially on Sunday afternoons after church services—can be intense, often leading to long queues at the main gate. Local regulars often suggest visiting on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening when the artificial lighting creates a more relaxed atmosphere and the humidity has dropped slightly.
Parking inside the secure lot costs ₦300 per vehicle. The lot is spacious but fills up rapidly during public holidays or special event days. If you are using public transport, simply tell the driver you are heading to Pleasure Park on Aba Road; almost every Bolt or Uber driver in the city knows the entrance well. Security is visible and strict at the perimeter, which contributes to the park being one of the safest public spaces in the region. Personal food and drinks are officially restricted to prevent littering, so expect a bag check at the turnstiles.
The centerpiece of the park is a large man-made lake featuring a variety of pedal boats. A fifteen-minute session on a boat typically costs around ₦4,500 for a group. Navigating the water provides a unique perspective of the park’s architecture, including the water steps and the surrounding greenery. While the water is not for swimming, the spray from the central fountains offers some cooling relief during the peak heat of the afternoon. The lake area is particularly popular for photography—just be mindful of your phone near the edge of the vessels.
For those seeking a physical challenge, the 12-meter climbing tower is the most prominent structure on the skyline. A single climbing session costs ₦1,500 and includes safety harnesses and staff supervision. It is surprisingly taxing for beginners, but the view from the top offers a rare clear look at the traffic flow along Aba Road. Additionally, the park houses a 5-star cinema complex operated by Filmhouse, where movie tickets range from ₦3,000 to ₦6,000. This indoor space is the perfect escape when the tropical rains inevitably start, providing a high-end environment with a VIP lounge for more private viewing.
Adults pay ₦1,500 for entry, while the rate for children is ₦1,000. These prices cover basic access to the park grounds and jogging trails but do not include any rides or games.
Security usually prohibits visitors from bringing in their own meals and drinks to maintain cleanliness. You can purchase local and international dishes at the onsite Lebanese and Italian restaurants or smaller kiosks scattered throughout the facility.
Weekday mornings before noon are the quietest times, as most families and students visit on Saturdays and Sundays. The park is significantly busier during festive periods like Christmas or Easter when special events are hosted.
A pedal boat ride on the man-made lake costs approximately ₦4,500 per session. The climbing tower requires a separate ticket of ₦1,500 per person for use of the safety equipment and the climb.

Felicia Lubo Beautifully structured recreational park with a sufficient parking lot. There is a playground with swings and slides for children. An obstacle course that gives you a great view of the city as far you can see. A lake with boats that can carry up to 4 people which you have to paddle with your feet. It costs 3000 to use the boat for 15 minutes. There is a large green area that can be used for picnics or nice photos. Generally clean with accessible trash cans to eliminate littering. There is a fishing area where you can fish and an 18 hole golf course close by. There is also a children's pool. There are about 3 spots for people to sit and buy drinks and food and unwind. There is a cinema in the premises to watch current movies. A perfect place for the entire family.
Elakes Nig It is a very nice amusement park in the heart of Port Harcourt to take both kids and adults to for a time out. Parking is now free but entry fee has gone up to N1500 per adult and less for kids. There are two Restaurants that sells foods, suya, roasted fish and drinks in the park. There is also a cinema and well maintained lavatory in the park to prevent anti social behaviour. We enjoyed our visit and would not mind going there another time.
Shammah Godoz Pleasure Park was everything I expected and more. It was easy to go to. Very accessible and not far from the house. Trans Amadi is PH's district so it was very easy to locate. Tickets were ₦1500. The security staff were kind enough to watch our bags while we enjoyed the place. I entered the park and I was wowed beyond my imagination. The greenest and most well maintained grass. The best lake. I had the best tigernut milk here. Expensive but well, it was nice. There's a shawarma place, a place for suya and a mural. There are train rides, park rides and the best of all was the paddle boat. My boat wasn't steering well so they changed the boat for me and I had a blast. A serious blast. The pictures I took here were nice and I'd never forget this day in my life.
Chigweyari This is one of Port Harcourt's finest holiday & relaxation spots. I'll have to say the scenery is like a mini Switzerland and the atmosphere is peaceful. While experiencing this park, for the first time, I couldn't help but notice the well planned walk routes adorned with freshly cut & maintained grass. The man made lake with the attendant water display and fountain was a cynosure. Did I mention the love boats that floated on this lake? It was enviable. Seeing lovers, family and friends float peacefully, taking pictures and establishing memories, laughing and singing along to the melodious sounds from the speakers from yonder was a joy to behold. When walking and enjoying the ambience, to the right of the lake, facing the west, is a beautifully maintained golf course. How I wish I had my golf clubs & membership card, I could have played the wealthy man sports with the men & women on there who seemed to enjoy themselves. By the side of the golf course is a lake view section where you & your family and friends could sit and enjoy the music (or the silence) while watching the calm flow of the lake. The viewing section has a low area where you could view the lake and immediate environs and a high area where you could view the entire pleasure park & the express way before. A tip - the high area is best recommended for lovers & introverts who love privacy. It's a bit private & somewhat shielded by the trees and shrubs. Something interesting happened while I happily explored and that was seeing a springbok, physically, for the very first time in my life. It was so adorable & cute. I could look at it all day. Such a lovely animal, eating grass and having no worries at all. It was an interesting sight to behold. The playground was fun. I played with the swing, rolling walk circle, zip line etc. Adjacent to the playground was a mini golf course and the restaurant, Micheal Gardens - a good place to enjoy music, ambience, captivating but warm lights and food with your loved ones. The pleasure park has 2 strategically positioned bars, food outlets, grills, coffee spots and fruits drinks spots as well. There is also a cinema to the right of the entrance of the park. I must say that it was a funfilled 4 hours I spent here. Satisfying. The scenery, the clean air, the jet streams, the people, the love boats, the lake, jumping springbok, the maintained flower trees by the walks, the carousel, the playground, the music, the water display fountain, the high view etc. This place is for you, for lovers, for family, for friends and all those who want to have a good time, relax, have fun or flee from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I recommend you should visit, if you haven't done so
