Suggested Duration: 2 hours
Musonda Falls lies just 50 minutes by road from Mansa in Zambia's Luapula Province, where the Luongo River cascades through a hydroelectric facility. The falls consist of a series of stepped rapids and smaller drops shaped by human engineering—nearby, the Musonda Falls Power Station has been upgraded in recent years from 5 to 10 megawatts, supplying electricity to the region and contributing about 63 million kilowatt-hours annually. While not designated as a national monument, the site provides a brief, accessible hike from the roadside and offers photo-worthy views of rugged rapids framed by riverine scenery. Travelers have noted it's easy to explore on foot without formal infrastructure, yet the stretch of cascading water remains a compelling sight amid everyday landscapes.

My love for nature just got in love with this place. The water curtain was so beautiful, the different phases and views of the fall are all breathtaking. It can be a great place to camp. The staff are very friendly and they ensure to be there all the way as you tour the heritage site. They explain and give background/ historical stories of the site making the tour even more interesting.
