Ebony Forest Reserve

Ebony Forest is a wildlife conservation NGO in Mauritius dedicated to restoring native forests and protecting the island’s extraordinary endemic biodiversity. Over the past two decades, our team has worked to reshape degraded landscapes and reverse the effects of historical deforestation and invasive species that have destroyed much of Mauritius’ original forest. Through native tree planting, ecosystem restoration, and habitat protection, Ebony Forest helps create safe environments where endemic wildlife can recover and thrive. We also share our conservation expertise with partners across Mauritius, the Indian Ocean, and beyond, supporting wider efforts to protect threatened biodiversity.
