His passion for tourism came from at an early age, where he first observed foreigners walking through a weekly tribal market in his home town Keyafer, and was drawn to connect with them. This led him to learn the languages of multiple local tribes as well as foreign visitors, and he is now conversant in over fifteen of these. Shigo also started his first business as a teenager, selling locally sourced, tribal jewelry. Led by his passion, before long Shigo started working as a local guide, which quickly expanded to include travels across the entire Omo Valley and other parts of the Ethiopia . Shigo loves sharing the riches of the region’s many indigenous cultures, and through this he has developed special relationships with both nomadic and pastoral communities, to enable whomever travels with him to return home with unforgettable experiences.
