Day 1: Arusha to Materuni Village
Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside toward Materuni Village, located on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.
09:00 AM – Arrival at Materuni Village
Upon arrival, meet your local guide and begin a guided walk through the village. Learn about the history, traditions, and daily life of the Chagga people while enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.
10:00 AM – Hike to Materuni Waterfalls
Continue on a guided hike through lush vegetation, coffee farms, and small streams. The trail leads to the impressive Materuni Waterfalls, where water cascades from a height of approximately 80 meters.
Take time to relax, enjoy the scenery, and capture memorable photographs. Adventurous travelers may choose to take a refreshing swim in the natural pool at the base of the waterfall.
12:30 PM – Traditional Local
Return to the village and enjoy a freshly prepared local lunch featuring traditional Tanzanian dishes.
01:30 PM – Coffee Tour and Coffee-Making Experience
Visit a local coffee farm and learn how coffee is cultivated, harvested, dried, roasted, and prepared using traditional Chagga methods.
Participate in the coffee-making process yourself, from grinding roasted beans to brewing a fresh cup of coffee. Enjoy cultural songs and dances often performed during the experience.
03:30 PM – Village Exploration and Cultural Interaction
Spend time interacting with local residents, learning more about Chagga culture, agriculture, and daily life.
04:00 PM – Return Journey
Begin the drive back to Arusha or Moshi.
