After breakfast, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration and park formalities. Continue to the trailhead and begin your trek through the lush rainforest. Continue through the rainforest before entering the heath and moorland zone. The landscape opens up as you approach the beautiful Shira Plateau, with views toward Kibo Peak. Today, trek across the spectacular Shira Plateau. The relatively gentle hike allows you to enjoy the scenery while continuing your acclimatization. After breakfast, trek toward Lava Tower at approximately 4,630m. After spending time at this high point, descend toward Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” profile provides valuable acclimatization. Enjoy views of the impressive Barranco Wall before dinner and overnight. Begin the day by climbing the famous Barranco Wall. The trail then continues through the alpine desert toward Karanga Camp. After breakfast, continue toward Barafu Camp, passing through the alpine desert zone. Arrive at Barafu in the afternoon and settle into camp. After an early dinner, rest and prepare your equipment for the summit attempt. Wake around midnight and begin the summit ascent. Trek slowly toward Stella Point on the crater rim before continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement and take photographs at the summit before descending to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest and overnight. After breakfast, begin your final descent through the beautiful rainforest to Mweka Gate. Complete the park formalities and receive your summit certificate. Meet your vehicle and transfer to Arusha or Moshi, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
