Hawane Nature Reserve, established in 1978, is located along the Mbuluzi River in Eswatini, initially to protect the habitat of the rare Kniphofia umbrina, a red hot poker endemic to the region. The reserve expanded in 1988 following the construction of the Hawane Dam, which supplies water to Mbabane. Managed by the Swaziland National Trust Commission, the reserve is known for its rich birdlife. Visitors can explore a dedicated trail for bird-watching, with species such as the lanner falcon, Egyptian goose, pied kingfisher, and white-faced whistling duck commonly spotted.
