Ngwenya Glass - Eswatini

Such a beautiful spot to learn and explore. We (2 adults + 3 kids under 13 years old) had a great time watching the glass blowers incredible work and then explored the shops and cafe.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Nwenya Glass in Eswatini, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the most friendly and welcoming staff, setting the tone for an incredible experience. The quality of the glass items available for purchase is truly exceptional—each piece showcases a blend of artistry and craftsmanship that is hard to find elsewhere. One of the highlights of my visit was the chance to admire the glassmaking process from the platform upstairs. It was utterly mind-blowing to witness how raw materials are transformed into stunning glass creations right before your eyes. The level of skill involved is hypnotic; you can't help but be captivated by the artists at work. Moreover, the on-site coffee shop provides a perfect place to relax and unwind after exploring. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee combined with the vibrant atmosphere adds to the overall charm of the location. Surrounding Nwenya Glass, there are also a variety of craft stores boasting beautiful displays and clever designs filled with tempting goodies. Each store feels like a treasure trove, making it an ideal destination for anyone with a passion for art, sustainability, or simply enjoying the magic of glassmaking. In essence, Nwenya Glass is an absolute must-visit spot in Eswatini, and I can’t wait to return!

An amazing glassware manufacturing workshop and shop. All free to visit and you can view the team making all the glassware from a mezzanine deck. Also local craft shops. Very close to SA border crossing. Absolutely amazing place … thank you.

In this place glass gets a second life. Real craftsmanship put into all the pieces. You can observe the production process, buy the big 5 (among other things) in glass figurines and enjoy a cup of coffee. Note that there are others stores around in case you want to see other things too.

The designs at this glass store are incredibly creative. Once you start browsing, you want to buy souvenirs for everyone you know. From metal serving spoons with animal-shaped handles to wine stoppers, glasses with animal figures, & so much more, the variety & craftsmanship are so impressive. It was also cool to watch the staff create the pieces. It was a real privilege to see the process up close, & I was genuinely amazed by their skill & artistry. My only concern is that I wish the staff had better protective gear while working with & shaping the hot glass. Their safety is important, especially given the demanding nature of the work. There were also other stores in the back that were worth the attention selling things such as art, water, etc Overall, a beautiful, inspiring place that showcases remarkable craftsmanship & creativity.
