Koforidua, the capital of Ghana's Eastern Region, is a vibrant city with a mix of colonial and modern architecture, home to a population of over 183,000 as of 2010. As a commercial hub, it hosts a variety of businesses, including Intravenous Infusions Limited, one of West Africa's oldest pharmaceutical companies. Recent infrastructure improvements, such as a four-lane highway connecting the city to Oyoko and Kumasi, have bolstered its connectivity and economic activity. Koforidua's location makes it a gateway to notable attractions, including the Obuo Tabri Mountain, Akosombo Dam, Akaa Falls, Boti Falls, and the unique Umbrella Rock. The city also holds cultural significance, having hosted Ghana's 67th Independence Day celebrations in 2024.
