Guide to Kawkab Jeux Marrakech Rides and Prices

Kawkab Jeux serves as a primary entertainment hub for local families in Marrakech, situated on Rue el Imam Chafii near the Hivernage and Gueliz districts. Rides typically cost between 15 and 25 Moroccan Dirhams each, making it a significantly cheaper alternative to international theme parks or the larger Palooza Land located further north. This park operates on a pay-per-ride basis rather than a single entry fee, allowing parents to control their spending based on which attractions their children choose.

Navigating the Attractions at Kawkab Jeux

Classic Rides for Younger Children

The park targets a demographic of children aged between 1 and 9 years old. Most of the outdoor space is occupied by traditional fairground favorites, including a classic carousel and the Marrakech Express—a mini train that circulates a small portion of the grounds. These rides are slower and specifically designed for toddlers who might find larger amusement parks overwhelming. Unlike the high-intensity coasters found in European parks, these focus on gentle motion and bright, primary colors. Parents should expect to pay around 20 Dirhams for a single turn on the carousel, which usually lasts about three to four minutes.

Indoor Games and Basement Activities

Beyond the outdoor carousels, a substantial portion of the entertainment happens indoors. The basement level houses a miniature circuit where children over the age of six can drive small electric cars and bikes. This area often feels cooler than the outdoor sections, providing relief during the peak summer months. Alongside the driving track, the indoor facility contains dozens of arcade machines and skill-based games. These operate on tokens or a rechargeable card system—a detail that helps avoid carrying loose change for every individual machine. Physical activities like trampolines are also available, often priced at a low supplemental rate of 5 to 10 Dirhams for a fifteen-minute session.

Practical Planning for a Family Visit

Pricing Structure and Logistics

Financial planning for a visit involves understanding the card-based payment method used for most attractions. You typically purchase a plastic card at the main kiosk and load it with credit using cash or a local bank card. Most rides deduct their fee automatically upon scanning. While adults generally enter the grounds for free, children may be charged a nominal entrance fee of 15 Dirhams during holiday periods or special events. A typical family of four can expect to spend approximately 200 to 300 Dirhams for a two-hour visit, including a round of rides and some snacks. Keep in mind that the park does not offer a true unlimited day pass, so every extra ride adds to the total cost.

Optimal Timing and Atmosphere

Timing a visit correctly is the most important factor for an enjoyable experience. The park often opens around 4:00 PM, but the atmosphere only truly picks up after 7:00 PM when the sun goes down and the temperature drops. During the summer months of July and August, arriving before sunset is usually too hot for the outdoor play areas. Weekends are significantly busier with local residents, leading to wait times of 10 to 15 minutes for popular rides like the bumper cars. For a quieter experience, a Tuesday or Wednesday evening provides more space. The proximity to the Royal Tennis Club and the Carré Eden shopping center—only 0.8 kilometers away—makes it easy to combine a visit with a meal in the modern Gueliz area.

Food Options and Amenities

On-site dining is centered around a small restaurant and snack bar that serves basic Moroccan and international fast food. Prices for a standard kiddie menu range from 40 to 60 Dirhams. The popcorn and ice cream stands near the entrance are popular with locals and offer a quick sugar fix between rides. While the food is functional, better quality dining is available just a short 10-minute walk away in the surrounding Gueliz streets. Restrooms are located near the indoor arcade section, though it is wise to carry your own tissues as supplies can run low during the busy evening rush.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the typical opening hours for Kawkab Jeux?

The park generally opens daily from 4:00 PM until 11:00 PM or midnight. During the weekends or school holidays, it may open as early as 10:30 AM, but the evening hours remain the most popular for local families seeking cooler weather.

How much does it cost to visit Kawkab Jeux?

Entry for adults is usually free, while rides cost between 15 and 25 Moroccan Dirhams each. A family should budget roughly 250 Dirhams for a few hours of entertainment and basic snacks for two children.

Is Kawkab Jeux suitable for teenagers?

This park is primarily designed for children under the age of 10. While there are some arcade games and bumper cars that older kids might enjoy, teenagers will likely find the attractions too small and would prefer the larger Palooza Land or Oasiria Water Park.

Where is Kawkab Jeux located in Marrakech?

It is located at 1 Rue Imam Chafii in the Gueliz district, right next to the Royal Tennis Club. It is approximately 3 to 4 kilometers from the Jemaa el-Fnaa square and easily accessible by a 15-minute taxi ride.

Is there parking available at the amusement park?

Street parking is available along Rue el Imam Chafii and the surrounding blocks, though it can be difficult to find a spot on Friday and Saturday nights. Most visitors find it more convenient to use a petit taxi, which costs about 15 to 20 Dirhams from the center of Gueliz.

Great play area for children i would reccomend we took my five year old brother and he throughly enjoyed. Not expensive at all. Seating area for adults is air conditioned and clean. Only downfall as with most places like this are the prices for food and water as they were very expensive in comparison to outdoors.

We are on holiday in Marrakech from the UK with our 2 year old so stopped here to let him run around. The under 2s area is brilliant, usual soft play activities with lots of slides, swings and trampolines etc. It's only 50mad entry and it's very clean and cool. The food portions are huge, fresh and cheap! Would definitely recommend here if you have young kids!
