Hotel Polana gave a best service for our wedding. Catering provided by hotel was excellent. Thank you Mr Doulat Sing chefe he made delicious food for the buffet. We loved everything. I would rate 5 star for their service.

Absolutely stunning hotel with memorable views and perfect for a formal or wedding occasion. I attended a wedding at the hotel and experienced the beauty of this large venue. The staff are friendly and the catering is wonderful. Rooms vary in size and are not very modern, but are comfortable and relaxing.

A wonderful classic grand hotel from a bygone era of time and quality. We had a fabulous second floor room overlooking the Indian Ocean. Staff are helpful, cheerful and friendly and we had a great time.

This is the first time that I have not been completely satisfied with Serena hotels. For $200 a night I expected better. Believe it or not, for a hotel facing the sea there are no balcony rooms in the main building. If you want a balcony, you have to walk 5 minutes to some far away annex. I left to find better lodging. UPDATE: Serendipity. 4 days after posting this review Lan Airlines canceled my flight and put me up at this hotel at their cost believe it or not. The guy at reception gave me a room in the main building with a very big balcony without me even asking for one! So this Serena has been fully redeemed and is no doubt the best hotel in Maputo.

We spent two days over new years, not quite the same hotel as I remember it. We had a dispute with our account on checkout, which still hasn't been resolved. The deeply concerning part is that they debited my account a months later, as they had my card details, without my authorization. This even though I was in contact with the hotel trying to resolve the issue. To add insult to injury, an inflated amount. How they able to do this remains a mystery, even with the bank which has opened up a fraud case. The hotel manager doesn't take my call anymore. Be very careful when paying by any card for your accommodation at this hotel. One wonders how many other clients account they have debited.
