Aberdeen is a coastal district in Freetown, Sierra Leone, known for its vibrant dining and nightlife scene, with upscale restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues. The area features Cape Sierra Leone at the peninsula's northwestern tip and the long Aberdeen-Lumley Beach, a stretch of white sand along the Atlantic coast. Established in 1829, Aberdeen was originally settled by recaptives—freed enslaved Africans resettled by the British Royal Navy. Today, it remains a key tourist and leisure destination within the capital.
