The guide you must have in Conakry Sep 2026 • Couples We took just a half day tour with Taibou to a waterfall - Soumba Cascades in Dubreka. The SUV was in excellent condition. The driver was great. The water was beautiful. Most of all Taibou handled a scary and sticky situation with courage and boldness. A group of macho police men stopped us on the way. They kept making crazy excuses to extort money from us. He pushed back with conviction and after much drama he called in the ministry of tourism. He finally got the thugs to back off and happily moved on without paying any bribes. We’re so glad he was our guide. This is not a place to go anywhere without him.

Amazing experience Apr 2026 • Solo I spent 5 days with Taibou visiting the Fouta Djallon and Conakry and it was an incredible experience! Even in the dry season the landscapes and hiking were amazing and I loved staying at his father's beautiful guesthouse. Touring around Conakry and the Îles de Los was a great way to end the trip. Taibou was extremely professional and responsive throughout. He did an excellent job of organizing everything and always making sure I was comfortable. I can only recommend using his services if you decide to visit Guinea.

Beautiful experience in Fouta Djallon with a great local guide Feb 2026 • Solo I spent several days exploring the Fouta Djallon region in Guinea with Taibou and overall it was a very good and memorable experience. From the moment I arrived in Conakry, I felt that everything was handled seriously. My flight from Dakar arrived four hours late, but Taibou and the driver were still waiting for me at the airport late at night. From there we drove another four hours to Kindia, exactly as originally planned. Throughout the trip I always felt safe, which is very important when traveling alone. The Fouta Djallon region is truly beautiful and very authentic. I traveled during the dry season, so it was extremely hot and there was a lot of dust everywhere, but the landscapes and the atmosphere of the region make the effort worthwhile. During the trip we visited several beautiful places including Bride’s Veil waterfall, Ditinn waterfalls, Kambadaga waterfalls and the spectacular landscapes around Doucki. The hiking in the Doucki area was especially memorable. Taibou chose a very beautiful trekking route, and the most impressive part was climbing the improvised ladders used by local people through the canyon and near the waterfall. That was a truly unique experience. In Doucki I stayed two nights at Taibou’s family home. The guest rooms they offer for travelers are simple but clean, welcoming and pleasant. His mother prepared meals for me and kindly adapted the food to what I liked to eat, which I appreciated very much because earlier in the trip I had some difficulties with food in Kindia and Dalaba. There was however one moment during the trip that I feel should be mentioned honestly. On the long drive from the mountains back toward Conakry, Taibou and the driver asked if it would be okay to give a ride to a local woman along the road. I agreed, thinking it would just be a short ride. However, she was traveling with a baby, something that was not mentioned before she entered the car. For several hours I had to share my seat and space, and the baby was crying and throwing food. This made the final part of the journey uncomfortable, especially since I had booked and paid for a private trip. I later explained to Taibou that when clients book a private tour, the comfort of the client should remain the priority. That said, I still believe Taibou is a good and intelligent young guide who knows the region very well and who wants to offer visitors a real experience of Fouta Djallon. The landscapes, the hikes and the time spent in Doucki were truly special. If you are looking for authentic nature, beautiful hikes and a less touristic part of West Africa, Fouta Djallon is definitely worth discovering.

Excellent week in the Fouta Djallon Jan 2026 • Solo I took a one week tour in the Fouta Djallon with Taibou in January 2026. The itinerary was very well planned and I saw so many amazing places over the course of the week. Taibou always went above and beyond to make sure that I had a good experience, and communication was very responsive from the moment that I first inquired about the trip. I would recommend Taibou to anyone wanting to travel in Guinea.
