A fantastic way to explore Carthage and its historical monuments by bicycle. The archaeological sites are widely spread, and cycling makes them much more relaxing than walking. Good bikes are essential. Small groups are recommended if you book guided tours. Knowledgeable guides explain the history clearly and answer questions. This creates a relaxed tour with many interesting details, rather than a typical guided tour. Of course, you can also simply set off on your own. The route is mostly flat and easy to cycle. Only a few sections involve regular traffic. If you have the option, it's best to start in the morning. The temperatures are more pleasant then, and the archaeological sites are much quieter. Don't forget water and sunscreen – there's very little shade along the way.
