About Rotcha-Tours

Anita – Founder & Heart of Rotcha-Tours Hello, I’m Anita, the founder of Rotcha-Tours, and the person behind all bookings and tour organization. Originally from Switzerland, I’ve been living on the beautiful island of Boa Vista for over 10 years. Here, I became part of a large and warm-hearted Cape Verdean family – an experience that deeply shaped my life and the way I see the world. As a mother of two children, I understand how important it is to work with reliability, flexibility, and care – values that are at the core of everything we do. With Rotcha-Tours, my goal is not only to show you the most beautiful places on the island but also to share the real Boa Vista – its people, its culture, and the unique “No Stress” island lifestyle that makes this place so special. I look forward to showing you my second home – with passion, experience, and a whole lot of heart.

Excellent

Good
An enjoyable excursion visiting various parts of Boa Vista. Booked the ‘Combi-Relax’ excursion. Easy booking . No booking fee required. Cash (euros) accepted as well as card payment (extra €5 charge). Pickup from outside of our hotel at 0840. Pick-up vehicle was a Toyota Hilux with open seating on the flatbed part of the truck which made for an experience! Our tour guide was Fabio who was very knowledgeable. Visited Chaves Bay where we able to do some sand boarding and get some magnificent views over the bay with is white sandy beaches. We then travelled across the rocky terrain to a cliff edge to see turtles swimming in the sea and feeding off the seaweed. Due to then strong waves and rockiness of cove weren’t able to swim the the turtles, but merely watching them was impressive enough. We travelled on Varandinha beach to see the limestone caves which have been carved by the sea. From Varandinha we travelled onto Rabil, but stopped off for a drink on a local beach bar. Once we got to Rabil we had the opportunity to look at the pottery school and buy some souvenirs to take home. Euros accepted at the pottery school. We then made our way to Cabo Santa Maria to see the famous shipwreck which is quickly eroding away. We didn’t swim around it but we were about to have a quick paddle in the sea. The dirt roads are very rocky when heading from Rabil to the Santa Maria shipwreck…especially if you are sat in the open top back of Hilux! After Cabo Santa Maria we travelled a Sal Rei to explore the capital city of Boa Vista. Lovely views around the bay. We had some food and drinks (food, complementary welcome drink and water included) at Casa Rosa which was excellent. You do get the locals trying to entice you into their shops, but a simple ‘no thank you’ does the job, if you aren’t interested. Back at our hotel at about 1600 hours. Overall an enjoyable trip/excursion which goes towards the local economy/community. Just remember to have plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and wear clothing you don’t mind getting dusty/sandy when travelling on the back of a Hilux!

Thank you so much for four very well-organized tours that offered fantastic insights into the islands of Boa Vista, both on land and in the water. We also appreciate the delicious lunch breaks in the villages. Thanks as well to Fabian and Bernardo for their expert and informative guidance and safe driving on all tours.

Excellent
We booked the combined Relax Tour super easily Quick response and they were there on time for pickup. A fantastic day with lots of impressions of the island . To top it all off, a super delicious lunch – five stars well deserved. The driver was excellent, driving smoothly and quietly, and we could see everything perfectly. All our questions were answered superbly by the tour guide, and the welcome and farewell were wonderful. We would definitely book with them again.
