About Sani Pass Tours - Lesotho Da…

Follow the steps of the Drakensberg peddlers of yesteryear, who perilously traipsed to the top of this mountain with only a mule for transport. Thankfully, you’ll be travelling in the supreme comfort of an air-conditioned 4×4 Land Cruiser, driven by a dedicated experienced guide who travels the route almost daily. Sani Pass takes you through the border into Lesotho… The Kingdom in the Sky. This spectacular Sani Pass 4×4 trail has been touted by Lonely Planet as one of the most epic road trips and the best road trip for thrilling scenery. And with good reason. The hairpin bends and endless views of the route offer our guests breathtaking beauty. There’s also an opportunity to discover Basotho culture, dinosaur footprints, cave paintings, and wildlife, depending on how long your tour is. Sani Pass Tours is a proud carbon offset partner of Fire Island Conservation. Through our tours, you are supporting marine conservation and community upliftment initiatives in southern Africa.

Absolute Bucket List Highlight — Request Frank! Our guided tour up the Sani Pass with Sani Pass Tours was an unforgettable experience. Driving up this picturesque but dangerous mountain pass requires immense skill, and our guide, Frank, was exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, highly cautious, and kept us feeling safe every single metre of the way. Conquering the Sani Pass has been on our bucket list for years, and we can now happily cross it off. If you are planning this trip, we cannot recommend Sani Pass Tours and Frank highly enough!

100% recommended! This is something you simply can’t miss. Our guide, Frank, was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional. We had a 10/10 experience from start to finish! Without a doubt, this is the best company to take this tour with. Highly recommended!

The Sani Pass day tour was absolutely exhilarating and truly a bucket list experience in South Africa! I would highly recommend booking with Sani Pass Day tours if you want a seamless experience with incredibly knowledgable people who care about the community and the environment. Esme also gave us so many recommendations that made our trip unforgettable. Our guide was amazing and took us to so many beautiful viewpoints and photo stops along the way as well as spotted animals for us to observe. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience.

Sifiso was knowledgable and a good eye spotting animals miles away. We left promptly at 9 and the ride up the Drakensburg mountain was breathtaking. Lovely for thrill seekers too. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. Not much was done in Lesotho but the local pastor took us through the Basotho history and culture before we had a delicious meal. If you want a more in depth Lesotho experience in the country itself, this may not be the tour but definitely a beautiful start.

I’ve been lucky enough to experience two trips with Sani Pass Tours and even meet the team behind it all. On both occasions the staff were helpful, accommodating and friendly, paying attention to detail to make sure the trip is well organised. On top of that the trips themselves are always eye opening. The range of vehicles are comfortable and capable, the tour guides knowledgeable and enthusiastic and the scenery is as always something to admire. What stands out for me is how professional yet immersive the tours are. Despite the expanse of Lesotho you feel that you are always in good hands, allowing you to relax and take in the unique cultural moments that pop up wherever you go. Looking forward to my next trip!
