Judith from Terra Terra Tours created a fantastic week-long program for my husband and me. We had six days to get to know the island of Santiago. We love variety in our activities, and Judith took our wishes and preferences into account perfectly. In those six days, we saw and did a great deal, stayed at beautiful locations, and were accompanied by knowledgeable guides who told us more about the island, its history, and the surrounding area. The experience with Judith herself was also absolutely top-notch and turned into a wonderfully relaxed afternoon in Cidade Velha. Thanks again for this fantastic week!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Street Art Tour. It was a fascinating and very well-conducted experience. Kevin, as Judith said, is truly a "son of the area" and deeply knowledgeable about the project and the messages behind each mural. Throughout the tour, we discovered much more than just urban art—we learned about stories, people, and the true soul of the neighborhood. The final moment, eating fried moray eel at his mother's restaurant, was the perfect way to end this discovery. It was also very special to visit the home of the singer, musician, and king of funaná, Zeca de Nha Reinalda, and to be able to talk to him. He was one of the voices that marked my first discoveries of Cape Verdean nightlife in Lisbon. I also greatly admire the mural by the Portuguese artist Vhils, whose work I have followed for a long time, including at the Underdogs gallery in Lisbon. When I return to Portugal, I intend to recommend this tour to many people I know who visit Cape Verde—and even to many natives who live here and haven't yet had this experience. Wir hatten eine tolle Erfahrung mit Terra Terra Tours. Judith hat uns eine streetart-tour empfohlen. Der erfahrene Guide kam selber aus dem Viertel, durch das die Tour führte, und kannte Orte und Menschen dort. So war die Tour authentisch und besonders. Sie ermöglichte uns Einblicke, die wir sonst nicht gehabt hätten. Das abschließende Abendessen war ebenfalls sehr lecker und ein gelungener Abschluss.

Normally, I prefer to explore a neighborhood alone. Just wander around, see where I end up, spontaneously play soccer with kids, or talk to people on the street. A tour always has a specific route and structure, of course. At the same time, I noticed that this Street Art Tour gave me something I would never have gotten on my own. Kevin gave me much more insight into the art project and the background of the neighborhood. He's an honest and friendly guide who shares his stories with great enthusiasm. It also felt really good to be with someone from the neighborhood. I probably would have been a bit more cautious, though. It was really enjoyable to spend a few hours with Kevin and get to know the neighborhood this way.

We highly recommend tours with terraterratours and its wonderful experts on arts and culture on Santiago, Cabo Verde. The tours give context and meaning to issues concerning history and communities in a very personal way. A delight!
