The team at Tours in Mauritania made us a custom itinerary on short notice and incorporated everything we wanted and more! Our trip to Ouadane, Tirjit, The Eye of Africa, and Chinguetti was magical. Our guide and driver were professional, personable, and knowledgeable. We cannot recommend this company highly enough! You MUST use them when in Mauritania!

Mohamed Salem was a fantastic tour organizer! We were a bit disappointed to not be able to explore Mauritania with him directly, but he set us up with a fantastic itinerary and took care of all the bookings, food, and experiences, as well as driver and guide. Mohamed Salem was also so helpful helping us customize our itinerary to meet our interests, price point, and food preferences. He was very available and worked with us during the whole trip, even though he wasn't there physically. Mauritania is an extremely challenging country to explore without a driver, as transport even between major cities can be unreliable. While we probably paid a bit more than we would have with public transport, the tradeoff for less time waiting and more comfort was very worth it. If you want to see the real Mauritania beyond the train, a tour is a must and Mohamed Salem is the best there is.

Traveling through Mauritania with our guide, drivers and cook was an extraordinary experience for our group of eight women. At every step of the journey we felt safe, comfortable, and incredibly well guided. The itinerary was unforgettable: climbing the breathtaking Azouega dunes, sleeping under the stars in an oasis, wandering through the historic remains of Ouadane, and discovering the ancient manuscript libraries of Chinguetti. The long desert drive to the Ben Amera and Aisha monoliths was also a highlight and something we will never forget. Our guide’s kindness, patience, and deep knowledge made the trip truly meaningful. He shared his culture with pride and always took the time to explain the history, traditions, and daily life of this remarkable country. Thanks to him we left Mauritania not only with amazing memories, but with a much deeper appreciation for its people and heritage.
