I can’t imagine the challenges faced in running a tour company in a post conflict country that’s also suffered from an Ebola outbreak. Hardly good foundations to encourage visitors but……..VSL have managed to passionately bring awareness and highlight the beauty beyond past beasts . Whatever you thought you knew about Salone think again. A peace loving safe environment with multi cultural acceptance . The wildlife and beaches remain naturally underrated. Lobster and fresh barracuda are staples on a menu. The beauty is in the faces of the people which extends to all VSL staff . SL isn’t perfect and in some areas it has a long way to go but if it’s a new destination you seek and you’re very open minded. look no further

When I visited Sierra Leone in December 2025, I went on two excursions with Visit Sierra Leone. One was a trip to Bunce & Tasso Island, the other was a trip to Banana Island. Both of these were truly extraordinary. Not only were the hosts patient and accommodating to everyone in the group, but they were passion about the stories of the islands. They led the tours with respect and reverence for Sierra Leone's history, which only made our own perspectives even deeper. Because of their knowledge and passion, I left each trip better than I came. Booking with Rugiatu was simple and easy, as was payment. I would recommend VSL over and over again. I cannot wait to go back and do more with them.
