My story - Yankuba Conteh My name is Yankuba, but most people simply call me Yanku. I was born and raised in The Gambia, and for the past 16 years I’ve dedicated my life to welcoming travelers from every corner of the world. What started with a simple car and a passion for meeting people grew into what is now Yanku Gambia Tours. ​ I believe a good guide is more than someone who shows you places. A good guide is someone who makes you feel safe, understood, and connected. That’s why my guests often say I am not just their driver or guide; I become their friend in The Gambia. ​ I speak English, Wolof, Mandinka, and even a little German and Dutch, but more important than language is understanding: knowing when to explain, when to give you space, and when to step in to make things easier. ​ With me, you’ll never feel lost. From airport pick-ups to safaris, cultural experiences, or even helping with SIM cards, currency exchange, or bookings. I handle everything so you can simply enjoy your journey. ​ For me, every traveler is family. My goal is not just to take you on tours, but to make you fall in love with The Gambia the way I do, with honesty, professionalism, and warmth. That’s why many of my guests return again and again. ​
