Duration: Full Day Transportation: Private Car Debre Libanos Monastery & Blue Nile Gorge Your tour begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or Addis Ababa Airport, followed by a scenic drive northwest toward Debre Libanos Monastery, approximately 105 km from Addis Ababa. Debre Libanos is one of Ethiopia’s most important Orthodox Christian monasteries and has played a significant role in the country’s religious history. During your visit, you will explore the monastery complex, including the church associated with Saint Tekle Haymanot, the historic Church of the Cross, and the religious schools. You will also have the opportunity to visit the nearby sacred cave and spring, whose holy water attracts pilgrims. After visiting the monastery, take a short walk to the historic Portuguese Bridge, a famous landmark spanning the Gur River. From the bridge, you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and the impressive waterfall that plunges approximately 600 meters into the gorge. The area is also home to the Gelada baboon, an endemic Ethiopian species easily recognized by the distinctive reddish patch on its chest. With some luck, you may have the opportunity to observe these fascinating animals in their natural habitat. After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, such as the Ethio-German Hotel, before beginning your scenic drive back to Addis Ababa. End of the tour: Arrive in Addis Ababa in the late afternoon or evening and drop off at your hotel or airport.

Bank Transfer: International and local transfers accepted. Online Payment: Available upon request. Cash: Ethiopian Birr or agreed currencies accepted in Ethiopia. 30% deposit is required to confirm your booking. 70% balance is due 30 days before departure. Bookings made within 30 days require full payment. Transfer and payment fees are paid by the client unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

60+ days: Refund available, less non-refundable costs. 30–59 days: Cancellation charges may apply. 15–29 days: Higher cancellation charges may apply. Less than 15 days: May be non-refundable. No-show/after departure: No refund. Some services, including flights, hotels, permits, and activities, may have separate cancellation policies.

Tipping Guidelines
