Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
After breakfast, transfer from your hotel to Machame Gate (1,800m) for registration and final preparations.
Begin trekking through Kilimanjaro’s beautiful montane rainforest, where the trail gradually climbs beneath dense vegetation. Depending on conditions, you may encounter blue monkeys, colobus monkeys and colourful birdlife.
Arrive at Machame Camp (approximately 3,000m) in the afternoon for dinner and your first night on the mountain.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
After breakfast, leave the rainforest behind and climb into the heath and moorland zone.
The trail becomes steeper as you ascend onto the Shira Plateau, with increasingly impressive views of Kibo Peak and Mount Meru on clear days.
Continue across the plateau towards Shira Camp at approximately 3,850m.
Spend the afternoon relaxing, hydrating and acclimatizing before dinner.

Day 3: Shira to Barranco Camp
Today is an important acclimatization day.
After breakfast, trek east towards the dramatic Lava Tower at approximately 4,600m. Reaching this higher altitude before descending helps your body adapt to the increasingly thin air.
After lunch around the Lava Tower area, descend into the beautiful Barranco Valley.
Arrive at Barranco Camp (approximately 3,950m) beneath the impressive Barranco Wall.

Day 4: Barranco to Barafu Camp
Begin the morning with the famous Barranco Wall, an exciting scramble that rewards climbers with spectacular views across Kilimanjaro.
Continue through the Karanga Valley before climbing towards Barafu Camp at approximately 4,670m.
Arrive in the afternoon, enjoy an early dinner and prepare your clothing and equipment for the summit attempt.
Rest as much as possible—the final ascent begins around midnight.

Day 5: Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
This is the most challenging and rewarding day of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
Wake around midnight for a light meal before beginning the slow climb towards Stella Point (5,756m).
Continue around the crater rim towards Uhuru Peak (5,895m)—the highest point in Africa.
Weather and pace permitting, celebrate your achievement and capture photographs at the summit before beginning the long descent.
Return to Barafu for a short rest and meal, then continue down to Mweka Camp (approximately 3,100m) for a well-earned dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
After breakfast, begin your final descent through the lush rainforest towards Mweka Gate.
Upon arrival, complete the park formalities and receive your Kilimanjaro summit certificate if you successfully reached Stella Point or Uhuru Peak.
Meet your transfer vehicle and return to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha for a well-deserved shower and rest.
