The 8-Day Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and highly recommended routes for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. The longer itinerary provides an excellent opportunity for gradual acclimatization, making it ideal for trekkers who want a more comfortable ascent and a strong chance of reaching the summit. The journey begins through the beautiful rainforest before crossing the spectacular Shira Plateau and continuing through moorland and alpine desert landscapes. Along the way, you will experience highlights such as Lava Tower, Barranco Wall and Karanga Valley before reaching Barafu Camp. The adventure culminates with a challenging midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit, you will descend through the southern slopes and complete your trek at Mweka Gate.

After breakfast, you will drive to Londorossi Gate for registration and permit formalities. From the gate, you continue to the trailhead and begin your trek through the lush montane rainforest. The trail is relatively gentle, allowing you to enjoy the forest scenery and wildlife before reaching Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp.
