Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) Transfer to Moshi
You will be picked up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to Moshi at your budget hotel for rest and overnight. Here you will meet your mountain guide for briefing about the upcoming adventure and checking for your available Kilimanjaro personal climbing gears.

Day 2: Moshi to Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp
Your adventure begins with a morning drive from Moshi to Lemosho Gate for registration, followed by trek via the Lemosho trailhead. The trek starts through lush rainforest, where towering trees, moss-covered branches, and rich birdlife create a peaceful introduction to the mountain. The trail is gentle and unhurried, allowing your body to begin adjusting to altitude while your guide sets a comfortable pace. Wildlife such as colobus monkeys may be spotted along the way, adding to the excitement of the first day. After several hours of trekking, you arrive at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp, where your crew prepares dinner and you settle in for your first night on Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp
Leaving the rainforest behind, the trail gradually climbs into the heath and moorland zone, offering changing scenery and wider views. The air becomes cooler and the vegetation shorter as you gain altitude, with giant heathers and volcanic rock formations dominating the landscape. This day is designed to be manageable, helping with acclimatization while still covering good distance. As you approach the Shira Plateau, you are rewarded with expansive views and a sense of space that defines the Lemosho Route. You arrive at Shira 1 Camp in the afternoon, with time to rest, enjoy warm meals, and take in the dramatic surroundings as the sun sets.

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Today’s trek is relatively gentle, crossing the wide Shira Plateau with gradual elevation gain. The walk allows your body to continue adapting to altitude while you enjoy panoramic views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding plains below. The terrain is open and scenic, making this one of the most visually rewarding days on the mountain. Your guide may lead a short acclimatization walk in the afternoon to help improve your chances of summit success. Upon reaching Shira 2 Camp, you rest and prepare for the more challenging days ahead, with clear skies often revealing a spectacular night sky.

Day 5: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
This is a key acclimatization day, following the principle of “climb high, sleep low.” You trek upward toward Lava Tower, reaching higher altitude where the landscape becomes stark and alpine. Although you may feel the effects of altitude here, your guide monitors your condition closely and maintains a steady pace. After lunch near Lava Tower, the trail descends into the scenic Barranco Valley, offering relief and improved acclimatization. Barranco Camp sits beneath the imposing Barranco Wall, surrounded by unique senecio plants and dramatic cliffs, making it one of the most beautiful camps on Kilimanjaro.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Today you make your way to Karanga Camp then to Barafu Camp, the final base before the summit attempt. The landscape becomes more barren and alpine, with volcanic scree underfoot and colder temperatures. The trek is steady and purposeful, allowing time to adjust and rest upon arrival at camp. After an early dinner, your guide briefs you on the summit strategy, emphasizing pace, hydration, and mindset. You retire early, knowing that the most challenging and rewarding day lies ahead.

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
Shortly after midnight, you begin the summit ascent under a star-filled sky, moving slowly and steadily toward Stella Point. The climb is demanding, both physically and mentally, but the support of your guide and crew helps keep you motivated. As dawn breaks, you continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, where you celebrate an unforgettable achievement. After photos and a brief rest, you descend carefully back to Barafu Camp for lunch, then continue down to Mweka Camp. The descent brings warmer air and a sense of accomplishment as you enjoy your final night on the mountain.

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
After breakfast, you descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you officially sign out of the park. At the gate, you receive your summit certificates before meeting your driver for transfer to your hotel. The afternoon is free for rest, hot showers, and celebration of your successful Kilimanjaro climb.

Day 9: Moshi to Tarangire National Park, then back to Arusha
Following an early breakfast, you depart for a private full-day safari in Tarangire National Park. The park is renowned for its large elephant populations, seasonal river, and iconic baobab trees that dot the landscape. Game drives reveal a wide variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, lions, and numerous bird species. Your professional safari guide shares insights into animal behavior and the ecosystem, enhancing the experience. After a picnic lunch inside the park and an afternoon game drive, you return to Arusha in the evening, bringing your Kilimanjaro and Tanzania safari adventure to a memorable close.
