The University of Botswana, established in 1982, is the country's first higher education institution with campuses in Gaborone, Francistown, and Maun. It evolved from a regional university shared with Lesotho and Swaziland, becoming fully independent after a nationwide fundraising effort known as "One Man, One Beast." The university comprises multiple faculties, including Business, Engineering, and Health Sciences, and is home to the Sir Ketumile Masire Teaching Hospital. UB ranks among sub-Saharan Africa's top universities and offers a range of academic, recreational, and medical facilities for students.

I spent a few days there and have a positive opinion about the climate and the quality of education at this university. It is a great place to pursue a science degree.

The University of Botswana, established in 1982, is the premier institution of higher learning in Botswana. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various faculties. Known for its strong academic standards and commitment to research, the university has gained international recognition. Students often praise the university's experienced faculty, modern facilities, and vibrant campus life. The university's location in Gaborone, the capital city, provides opportunities for internships, research collaborations, and cultural experiences. While the university faces challenges such as limited resources and a growing student population, it continues to strive to provide a quality education and contribute to the development of Botswana.

Not sure how to put it. The facility is great but the staffing... to put it short service is a joke and not a good one. Not everyone is terrible of course but there are far too many that are. Try being a student...and I bet you won't like it

The University of Botswana is in my mind one of the best universities in Africa. This was the first university I attended and the courses are solid, from personal experience. Pictured is one of the gates to enter the university, there are multiple entry points, the dorms, and the library - around which construction was going on at the time the pictures were taken. The pictures were taken around 2008.
