Fun Park Borj Fez occupies a significant portion of the second floor within the Borj Fez Shopping Center, situated on Boulevard Allal El Fassi between the old medina and the new city. This climate-controlled facility offers a stark contrast to the historical heat of the Fes el-Bali district, providing over 15 distinct mechanical rides and a large selection of digital arcade games. Most visitors should expect to spend between 100 and 200 Moroccan Dirhams per child for a two-hour session, depending on their interest in high-end simulators or standard play zones.
The facility operates on a zone-based layout that separates high-intensity mechanical attractions from stationary arcade machines and toddler-specific areas. The centerpiece of the park is often the indoor bumper car arena, which occupies a large footprint near the main entrance. While many indoor parks in Morocco focus solely on redemption games, this location maintains several larger kinetic rides, including a mini drop tower and a classic carousel that caters to younger children. The hardware is generally well-maintained, though the sensory input from flashing lights and loud music can be overwhelming during the peak weekend rush.
The arcade section features a mix of traditional ticket-redemption machines and modern video game cabinets. Racing simulators and basketball hoops remain the most popular choices for teenagers, typically costing between 10 and 20 credits per play. One detail many visitors overlook is that the ticket-to-prize ratio is relatively steep; it often takes several hundred tickets to earn even small plastic trinkets. For those seeking thrills rather than prizes, the virtual reality booths offer a more immersive experience, though these are frequently the most expensive attractions in the park and may have height restrictions for safety.
For families with toddlers, the soft play jungle gym provides a contained environment with slides, ball pits, and climbing frames. Unlike the per-ride pricing of the mechanical attractions, the soft play area often allows for longer duration sessions which can be more economical for parents. The padding and netting are checked regularly, providing a safe space for children under 120 centimeters to burn off energy. It is advisable to bring socks for the children, as bare feet are often prohibited in the soft play zones for hygiene reasons, and buying them on-site adds an unnecessary expense to the day.
Managing a visit to Fun Park requires understanding the proprietary payment system used throughout the facility. Cash is not accepted at individual machines or ride entrances; instead, every guest must use a rechargeable magnetic card. This system helps manage crowds but can lead to long queues at the central recharge kiosks during Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. I have observed that the kiosks near the back of the park often have shorter lines than the primary desk at the entrance, a small trick that can save ten minutes of waiting.
The initial purchase of the Fun Park plastic card costs approximately 5 Moroccan Dirhams. This card is reusable for future visits, so it is worth keeping in a travel wallet if you plan to return to Fez. Users can load the card with denominations starting from 20 Dirhams up to 500 Dirhams or more. Some promotional packages offer bonus credits—for example, loading 200 Dirhams might grant an extra 30 Dirhams in play value. It is important to check the remaining balance at the scanners located around the floor, as machines will simply decline the card without indicating how many credits are missing for the specific game.
The park follows the general operating hours of the Borj Fez Mall, typically opening at 10:00 AM and closing at 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM on weekends. The atmosphere shifts dramatically throughout the day. Weekday mornings are nearly empty, making them ideal for tourists who want to let their kids play in a calm environment. Conversely, Sunday afternoons see a massive influx of local families, leading to significant noise levels and wait times for the bumper cars. Since the mall’s food court is located on the same level, many families combine a visit to the park with a meal, meaning the 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM window is consistently the most congested period.
There is no flat entrance fee to walk into the park area, but you must purchase a rechargeable card for 5 MAD to use any attractions. Individual rides and games typically cost between 10 and 30 MAD each once the card is loaded.
Most mechanical rides like the drop tower and bumper cars require children to be at least 100 to 120 centimeters tall for safety. The soft play area is specifically reserved for younger children, generally those under the age of 10 or below a certain height threshold.
The card used at Borj Fez is typically specific to that brand's locations, though some national chains may allow cross-compatibility. It is safest to assume the balance is only valid at the Fez location unless the staff explicitly confirms a link to sister parks in Casablanca or Rabat.
Yes, the park remains open on Sundays and most public holidays, following the schedule of the Borj Fez Shopping Center. These are actually the busiest days for the facility, with peak crowds occurring after 4:00 PM when the mall sees its highest foot traffic.
Bench seating is available around the perimeter of the soft play area and near the arcade sections, though it fills up quickly during busy hours. Many parents choose to sit at the nearby food court tables which offer a view of the park's main entrance while they wait.
M R Great Family Experience Last weekend, my family and I visited Fun Park for a delightful afternoon with our son. This vibrant amusement center proved to be a fantastic choice for family entertainment. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the bright and inviting entrance, promising a world of fun inside. A Variety of Attractions Fun Park offers a wide range of activities that cater to both children and adults. Our son was thrilled with the colorful play structures, slides, and interactive games. He especially loved the character-themed play area featuring beloved cartoon figures, which sparked his imagination and kept him engaged for hours. Fun for All Ages One of the highlights of our visit was that Fun Park isn't just for kids. My wife and I found ourselves equally entertained by the arcade games. From classic arcade machines to modern interactive games, there was no shortage of options to keep us occupied. It was heartwarming to see my wife get competitive over a game of air hockey while I enjoyed a round of racing games. Convenience for Parents What truly sets Fun Park apart is its thoughtful design for parents. They provide an excellent option where you can leave your child in a supervised play area while you shop or relax. This feature is incredibly helpful for parents who need a break or want to take care of other errands without constantly checking on their kids. Knowing that our son was in a safe and monitored environment allowed us to unwind and enjoy our time together. Birthday Parties Fun Park is also a great venue for children's birthday parties. They offer party packages for a minimum of 10 kids, and the cost is $15 per child. This package includes access to all games and attractions, ensuring that the kids have a fantastic time. If you’re looking for a fun and exciting place to celebrate your child’s special day, Fun Park is an excellent choice. Room for Improvement The only aspect of our experience that could be improved is the receipt process. When you exchange your Fun Park card or add money to the card, they do not provide a receipt. This can be inconvenient because you pay for the card but don't have a way to verify exactly how much credit has been added. I asked for a receipt, and the staff informed me that they do not provide one. This was quite surprising and disappointing, as it left me uncertain about the accuracy of the transaction. Implementing a system to provide receipts would enhance the overall customer experience and ensure transparency. Overall Experience Despite this minor inconvenience, our visit to Fun Park was a resounding success. The friendly staff, clean facilities, and diverse range of activities made it a memorable experience for our entire family. We laughed, played, and created wonderful memories that we will cherish. If you're looking for a place where both kids and adults can have a great time, I highly recommend a visit to Fun Park.
Adam Sami I go there since 2013, it is ok
Sabiya Hussain My daughter had a lot of fun. The top up and tap system is good if you know much much you need to spend. Some of the arcade games didn't work properly hence on less star but staff were willing to help fix issues. Quite pricy for what it is and the games aren't very long. Everything is on a timer so even if you're doing well with a game, the game is over after a specific time. I would visit again only really because there isn't anything else like this that I'm aware of in Fez.
hamza naji Great place for kids. I think it is the only one in the city
Jamil Amarti One of my friends suggested this place and the kids really loved it. They had a lot of fun. Amine was very helpful, as well as the rest of the staff. We will definitely come back next time we're around.
