Day 1: Arusha/Moshi – Tarangire National Park – Karatu

Your 2-day Tanzania safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha or Moshi. After breakfast, you will meet your professional safari guide and begin your scenic journey towards Tarangire National Park. The drive takes you through the beautiful Tanzanian countryside, passing local villages, farmlands, and spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes. Upon arrival at Tarangire National Park, you will enter the park and begin your first exciting game drive. Tarangire is well known for its impressive elephant population, ancient baobab trees, diverse landscapes, and abundant wildlife. During the game drive, keep your eyes open for elephants gathering around water sources, as well as lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, impalas, warthogs, and many other animals. The park’s seasonal rivers and wetlands attract large numbers of wildlife, particularly during the dry season when animals gather around the Tarangire River in search of water. Your experienced guide will help you locate animals and provide interesting information about their behavior, habitat, and role within the ecosystem. As you explore the park, you will also have plenty of opportunities to enjoy Tanzania’s beautiful scenery and take memorable photographs. The iconic baobab trees, wide open grasslands, woodland areas, and wildlife-filled plains create a truly authentic African safari atmosphere. Around midday, you will stop at a designated picnic area for lunch. This is a chance to relax, enjoy your meal, and take in the surrounding natural environment before continuing your safari adventure. After lunch, you will continue with an afternoon game drive through Tarangire National Park. The afternoon is another excellent opportunity to observe wildlife as animals become more active and move through the park in search of food and water. Later in the afternoon, you will leave Tarangire National Park and drive towards Karatu, a charming town located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you can enjoy views of the countryside and local communities before arriving at your accommodation. Once you arrive in Karatu, you will check in, relax, and enjoy dinner. This comfortable overnight stop prepares you for an early start the following morning, when you will continue your safari to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Day 2: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha/Moshi

After an early breakfast at your lodge or campsite in Karatu, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and make your way towards the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. The early morning start allows you to reach the crater in time for an exciting game drive and gives you a great opportunity to enjoy the wildlife while the animals are active. Upon arrival at the crater rim, you will be rewarded with spectacular panoramic views of the Ngorongoro Crater below. The crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable natural attractions and is often described as a natural wildlife sanctuary because of the large concentration of animals living within its walls. You will descend into the crater in your safari vehicle and begin a game drive across the crater floor. The diverse environment includes open grasslands, forests, wetlands, and Lake Magadi, attracting a wide variety of wildlife. During your exploration, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles, and many different bird species. With some luck, you may also have the opportunity to see the endangered black rhinoceros. Your experienced safari guide will help you locate wildlife and share fascinating information about the animals, vegetation, geology, and ecosystem of the crater.
