7-Day Great Migration – The Calving Season

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobab trees, vast savannahs, and large elephant herds. Enjoy a full-day game drive along the Tarangire River, a vital water source attracting diverse wildlife. Picnic lunch in the bush before continuing game viewing. In the late afternoon, drive to Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

After breakfast, travel through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands and enter Serengeti National Park via Naabi Hill Gate. Enjoy your first Serengeti game drive across the endless plains of the Central Serengeti (Seronera), renowned for year-round wildlife and high predator density.

After breakfast, drive toward the Ndutu region in the Southern Serengeti, the heart of the Great Migration calving season (January–March). Witness massive herds of wildebeest and zebra, along with intense predator activity. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness and continue game viewing throughout the day.

Spend a full day exploring the Ndutu plains, where thousands of wildebeest calves are born daily. This attracts lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and other predators, offering some of the most dramatic wildlife encounters in Africa. Picnic lunch under acacia trees as you soak in the raw beauty of nature.

Enjoy a final morning game drive in Ndutu before heading toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, enjoy stunning scenery and wildlife sightings. Arrive at your camp near the crater rim or surrounding highlands and relax in the evening with breathtaking views and a campfire under the stars.

Descend early into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. Spot black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos and flamingos within this spectacular volcanic caldera. After a picnic lunch, ascend the crater and return to Arusha or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure. Optional Zanzibar beach extension available.
