7 Days Kilimanjaro Machame Route

Known as the “Whiskey Route,” Machame offers spectacular scenery and an excellent acclimatization profile. The 7-day itinerary allows extra time for your body to adjust to the altitude while following the famous climb-high, sleep-low principle. Starting from the lush rainforest at Machame Gate, the trail gradually rises through heath and moorland to the dramatic Shira Plateau. You will cross beneath the glaciers of Kibo, reach Lava Tower, descend into Barranco Valley, climb the famous Barranco Wall and continue through Karanga to Barafu Base Camp. The adventure reaches its climax with a challenging nighttime summit climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,341 ft), the highest point in Africa. The trek is operated with a professional mountain crew, including experienced Kilimanjaro guides, porters and a mountain cook. Accommodation on the mountain is in tents at designated campsites, with meals prepared by the crew throughout the climb. This is a private Kilimanjaro climb, giving you greater flexibility and personalized attention from your mountain team
