Unlike the busier Northern Circuit, Southern Tanzania offers a profoundly different safari experience, with vast open spaces, fewer vehicles, a greater sense of solitude, and wildlife encounters that feel entirely personal. From Mikumi’s open savannah teeming with herds of buffalo and elephant, to the dramatic river landscapes of Ruaha National Park, one of Africa’s largest and most pristine wilderness areas, this journey culminates in a fascinating encounter with Tanzania’s Stone Age heritage at Isimila near Iringa.
