Day 1: Into the Wild — Nairobi to Samburu
Your journey into the African wilderness begins at Nairobi's Wilson Airport, where a scheduled light aircraft flight lifts you northward over the Great Rift Valley into the arid, sunbaked landscape of Samburu National Reserve. On arrival, a camp vehicle meets you for the short transfer to Soroi Larsens Camp — your elegant riverside home for the next two nights. Set on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River beneath a canopy of yellow fever trees, the camp offers 12 standard tents, 2 family tents, and 2 deluxe suites with star beds, all facing the river. Settle in, enjoy a welcome drink, and absorb the sights and sounds of the bush as the afternoon unfolds.

Day 2: Samburu's Rare North — Full Day in the Reserve
A full day to explore one of Kenya's most distinct ecosystems. Rise early for the first of two shared game drives in a custom open 4x4 vehicle, led by a Silver or Gold certified guide whose intimate knowledge of the terrain brings you face to face with Samburu's legendary "Special Five" — the Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Grevy's Zebra, Beisa Oryx, and Somali Ostrich — species found nowhere else on the standard safari circuit. Midday, access the camp's dedicated photographic hide for close, unhurried wildlife encounters at ground level, ideal for photographers and wildlife enthusiasts alike. The afternoon game drive continues the adventure before you return to camp for hot and cold appetisers at the riverside fireplace as the sun dips below the ochre hills.

Day 3: Southward Flight — Arrival in the Maasai Mara
After breakfast and a final morning at Larsens Camp, board your scheduled flight south for a breathtaking aerial traverse of Kenya's highlands, landing at Olkiombo airstrip in the heart of the Maasai Mara. A camp vehicle whisks you to the intimate Soroi Luxury Migration Camp — positioned in prime Lions and Leopards territory, just minutes from the airstrip yet enveloped in a sense of total seclusion. Check in and enjoy afternoon game drives across the iconic savannah of Acacia trees and rolling golden plains. As the sun descends, your guides set up the signature "Out of Africa" sundowner on the open grasslands: relax in bush chairs, sip refreshing cocktails, and savour homemade canapés served from the bespoke sundowner vehicle while the sky blazes in gold and crimson above the Mara.

Day 4: The Mara at Full Throttle — Extended Game Drives
This is Africa at its most magnificent. Two scheduled extended game drives take you deep into the Maasai Mara Game Reserve — one of the planet's greatest concentrations of wildlife. In peak season (July–October), witness the awe-inspiring Great Wildebeest Migration as over a million animals thunder across the plains following the rains in the largest overland animal movement on earth. Year-round, large prides of Lions, breeding herds of Elephants, Leopards, Cheetahs, Giraffes, Gazelles, and Eland populate this extraordinary reserve. Bush picnic lunches are served during extended drives per the camp schedule, ensuring you maximise every moment in the field. Return in the evening to campfire nibbles, selected beverages, and afternoon tea or coffee with homemade cake — the perfect end to an unforgettable day.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 5: Farewell to the Wild — Mara to Nairobi
Your final morning in the Mara arrives quietly — perhaps with one last walk to the camp's viewing deck as the sunrise gilds the plains gold. After breakfast, pack your bags and make your way to Olkiombo airstrip for a scheduled flight back to Nairobi Wilson Airport. On arrival, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in time for your international onward departure — carrying with you memories of lion-spotted savannahs, riverside sunsets, and the sounds of the African wilderness that no city can replicate.
